What do olives, wood, mountains and

you are at Los Olivos (the olives) Baptist

at the mountains in the heat of a

How We Serve Our Volunteers
The ministries of local churches, church plants, discipleship programs, children’s homes, schools and medical clinics are strengthened through our work.  They report having a higher level of awareness and more openness to their work after we hold events.  Then they are better able to connect with their own communities with the purpose of winning people to Christ.
A pastor once said, "I know for people to be reached they have to hear the gospel.  These events have given us the ability to attract many new people to our church to learn English where they also hear the gospel.  People are more open to me now that they see that I am serious about helping our community.”
Jody Kennedy International helps ordinary people who have been called by God to short-term overseas service to get involved and make a difference one life at a time.  Through our ministry, we take the mystery and much of the difficulty out of going overseas. We enable people who want to give of themselves in obedience to God's leading to do so with as few obstacles as possible. The result is that the volunteers are brought to front-line ministry through our Practically Speaking English program, where they interact personally with a group of students and have the privilege of praying for each of them by name.  They build relationships across which the gospel is carried in a natural way.  They get to witness their own students make decisions for Christ.
When individuals volunteer to serve with us, we coordinate all the details of their mission experience. This includes:
· Arranging international travel, airline ticketing, and insurance
· Assisting with necessary passports, visas, requirements
· Coordinating food, purified water, translators, housing and transportation arrangements
· Providing orientation and training seminars to prepare each volunteer
· Providing curriculum and other teaching materials to use while on the field
· Providing cultural awareness information about the ministry location
· Providing spiritual resources in advance of and throughout the short-term mission experience

Providing each volunteer with a front-line experience

One of our goals is to handle as many of the details as possible for every volunteer, whether it is an individual or a group of individuals.  We work with many volunteers who have never travelled overseas and we do our best to walk them through the process and answer every question with care so that they are able to fully focus on the work ahead.  We want every volunteer to be a success and to be able to make the most of every door that God opens during their mission.
